Wayne Stonestreet is a Mercer County Fiduciary Commissioner and has been with Katz, Kantor, Stonestreet & Buckner, PLLC for more than 25 years. Originally from Cross Lanes near Charleston, West Virginia, he has been a very active member of our community.
Wayne is married to his wonderful wife, Cindy, who is a teacher in Mercer County. They are proud parents of three sons, one who is a doctor in Louisville, KY, another who is a lawyer in Charleston, West Virginia, and another who currently attends college. Wayne and his family are members of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he has served as Elder as well as Trustee.
His other contributions extend to participating in:
- Read Aloud Program as counsel to the Community Foundation of the Virginias
- Bluefield High School Foundation as secretary/director
- Rotary Club of Bluefield, West Virginia as a 26-year member and past president
- West Virginia Tax institute as past president
His wife, Cindy, participates in the Blue Mountain Fine Arts Committee, the Bluefield Arts board, and is Vice President of the Westminster Women’s Program.
A WVU fan and certainly community-spirited, Wayne continues to contribute his many talents and efforts to making our town a better place to live. His practice areas are an essential ingredient to making Katz, Kantor, Stonestreet & Buckner a full-service law firm.
Education
Wayne graduated in 1973 from West Liberty State College with a B.S. degree in Accounting, then attended West Virginia Law School from 1973 to 1976. He is admitted to the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, to the U. S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, and to the U. S. Tax Court. In 1984, he attended the University of Miami, in Florida, and in 1985, received his LL.M degree in Taxation.
