South Charleston, WV (February 16, 2019) – Police responded to a five-car accident that took place in the westbound lanes of Interstate 64 on Friday that left three people with injuries.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. South Charleston firefighters arrived at the scene and claimed that three people had to be rushed to the hospital with a variety of severe injuries.
Witnesses claim that one vehicle was swerving all over the road and struck the guardrail. They claim that the vehicle was traveling around 80-100 mph. The cause of the speed and swerving is not yet known.
The ramp was closed down for about an hour in the area but the road was reopened very quickly. At this time, police continue their investigation into the accident.
