Jennifer Meeteer’s main goal as a lawyer is to find justice and fairness. In pursuing this goal, she’s been called a bird dog, stealthy and persistent. Her work focuses on helping people who have been injured and protecting clients from insurance companies seeking to take advantage of them. In addition to personal injury cases, she also handles medical malpractice, bad faith, family law, adoptions, and abuse and neglect cases.
Jennifer grew up in Boone County, West Virginia, and was the valedictorian of her class at Scott High School. She obtained both a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from West Virginia University. Always an avid reader and writer, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Professional Writing and Editing in 2009. At the West Virginia University College of Law, she became an editor for the West Virginia Law Review and graduated in 2012. As a first-generation college student, she is very proud of both degrees.
After graduating from law school in 2012, she worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Phillip Stowers in Putnam County, West Virginia. This was an invaluable experience in learning how circuit courts operate. She then began her career representing plaintiffs at a local law firm for several years before joining Katz, Kantor, Stonestreet & Buckner, PLLC in 2018. Aside from operating her own firm for a short time, she has worked with Katz Kantor since then and currently works in the firm’s Beckley, West Virginia office.
A notable result Jennifer achieved is a jury verdict in excess of $1 million that she obtained for a client who suffered serious injuries as a result of slipping and falling in a store in the case of Epperson v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., Civil Action No. 21-C-67, in the Circuit Court of Mercer County, West Virginia.
In her personal life, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband, Wes; their three children, Nora, Wesley, and Vivi; and their dog, Smokey. You can often find her in the bleachers or stands cheering on her children at their events in the Beckley area.
